Early Access release date
Grounded 2 launched in Early Access on July 29, 2025, on Steam, the Microsoft Store and Xbox Game Preview, published by Xbox Game Studios and developed by Obsidian Entertainment with Eidos-Montréal. It was a Game Pass day-one release.
The game launched at $29.99 with a promise from Obsidian that the price would rise as content was added toward the full release.
PS5 release date
The PS5 version released on August 11, 2026, together with the Into the Abyss pond update. Obsidian’s game director described the PlayStation launch as a “second launch” for the game. See the PS5 version for pricing and language details.
1.0 full release date
Obsidian has not announced an exact 1.0 release date. The full release is expected later in 2026; early access currently contains Act 1 of the story, and Obsidian has said the complete story ships with 1.0. Read more in the early access guide.
Console dates beyond PS5
Xbox Series X|S has been supported since Early Access launch (July 2025), and PS5 since August 2026. No PS4, Switch or other console version has been announced — treat any such dates as speculation.
