Is Grounded 2 still in early access?
Yes. Grounded 2 is in Early Access on Steam and Game Preview on Xbox, and the PS5 version continues the same early-access program since August 11, 2026. Obsidian chose early access because the team “loves building games with our community,” and has not set a hard end date.
What’s included in early access
Early Access currently includes Act 1 of the story, a huge section of Brookhollow Park, three Buggies (insect mounts), the archetype system, and solo or online co-op for up to four players.
Is the story complete?
No — the story is not complete yet. The current build contains Act 1, and Obsidian has said the full 1.0 version will add the complete story and additional content.
When does early access end?
There is no confirmed end date. The full 1.0 release is expected later in 2026, with new regions, mounts and bosses shipping along the way. Track the latest timing in the roadmap guide.
Price at launch vs 1.0
Grounded 2 cost $29.99 when early access began. Obsidian confirmed the price would increase toward the full release, so buying during early access locks in the lower price. See price and editions for all bundles.
